The Story Behind The Shattering Series

People often ask me where the idea for The Shattering Series came from.

The truth is... it wasn't something I dreamed up one afternoon. It was born out of one of the hardest seasons of my life.

When I began writing The Shattering: Grief, I was trying to make sense of emotions I didn't know how to put into words. Writing became more than telling a story. It became a place where I could pour out the hurt, the questions, and the faith I was fighting to hold on to.

As the series continued, The Shattering: Broken became even more personal.

There are pages in that book where Thomas isn't just a character. He's carrying thoughts and emotions I knew all too well. The feeling of watching everything you've worked so hard to build begin to fall apart. Wondering if you'll ever find solid ground again. Asking questions that don't seem to have easy answers.

I didn't write those books because I had everything figured out.

I wrote them while I was still walking through the pain.

Looking back now, I realize God was doing something I couldn't see at the time. He was taking some of the darkest moments of my life and turning them into stories that could encourage someone else.

That's what The Shattering Series has always been about.

It's not simply a series of books.

It's a reminder that even when life shatters around us, God is still able to put the pieces back together.

If you've ever wondered where these stories came from...

Now you know.

They were born from brokenness, but written with hope.
